DESCRIPTION:The Sedona City Council is voting this Tuesday, March 11, on an amendment that would ban short-term rentals (STRs) in Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) unless the owner lives in the main home.\n📌 The Concern: This proposal (Item G) would apply to all ADUs, even though state law (HB 2720) only permits this restriction for ADUs built after January 1, 2025. While the law took effect in May 2024, Sedona delayed implementation until January 1, 2025—but the City’s proposed language oversteps legal boundaries and could unfairly impact property owners who have been renting their ADUs for years.\n1️⃣ Email the Council – Share your concerns respectfully and urge them to remove Item G from the amendment.\n2️⃣ Submit Public Comment:\n\nFill out a Comment Card and give it to the City Clerk.\nWhen called, use the podium/microphone.\nState your name and city of residence.\nLimit comments to 3 minutes.\nWritten comments can also be submitted to the City Clerk.\n\n3️⃣ Attend the Meeting: If you can, attending in person makes a big impact.\n \n📄 Meeting Details & Agenda:🔗 Sedona Council Meeting Agenda\n📺 Watch Live: The meeting will be streamed on www.SedonaAZ.gov and on Cable Channel 4.\n \n
